Nicolas Achmadi
Nicolas Achmadi
Time: 10.59 NZT
Place: Good Health Wanganui Hospital, Wanganui
Date: 29 April 2005
Weight: 3.6 kg
Height: 53cm
Headband: 34.5cm
Proud parents: Danu & Erika Achmadi
Proud brother: William Achmadi
God has answered our prayers and delivering our second son, Nicolas Achmadi, in good health. I would like to give thanks to everybody who has prayed and supported us in many ways, especially families in Bogor, Bandung, Jakarta, Cirebon and other cities in Indonesia for their love, gifts and guidance; friends in Indonesia, Grace Baptist Church, Wanganui and Wellington for your warm fellowship and treating us as family. We are very blessed to be around such great people.
Nicolas' due date was on April 18th, but following his brother's footsteps, he didn't arrive on the time predicted, he chose to arrive 11 days after - and his brother 1 month earlier! :D ... Boys, you got to learn about puncuality!! :P
Anyway ... the contraction started around 2.00 am, starting from sharp pains to 3 minute intervals. The Midwife came around 6.00 am and confirmed that it was time to go to the hospotal. We woke up William and prepared him to go to the Bosje's as planned, who lives near the hospital, and to take him to Kiddicare for the day.
Once we arrived, things were starting to get busy around 9, that's when Erika asked for gas as pain relief, and stepped in the spa pool around 10.
Just under one hour later, Nic was born with his waterbag still around his head, and the whole process went smoothly. Everything went well, and the delivery was a natural water birth. Erika claims that there were more pain, but in my point of view, everything went better than William's ... or is it because now I know what's going on?
Documentation and reports were made and sent immediately to friends and relatives, which were relayed instantly to other families in Indonesia ... that's what I call teamwork! Since then, the phone kept buzzing replying back their encouragement and gratitude to God for the birth of Nic.
Once again, many thanks to friends and families, and especially to God, for his grace and love upon us.
