Day Care Report

11 February 2005

*Music/Dance & Movement
Loves having a wiggle and jiggle - dances with anyone.
*Water Activities
William will always find water, even if it is only a puddle!
*Swings n things
Once he has captured someone to push him, William won't let them stop.
*Blocks/Constructio/etc
Multi-level building is being achieved - good coordination.
*Painting/Finger-painting
William branched out into painting his hands today - it meant he had a reason to be in the bathroom.
*Sand play
Loves munching in with the "big" boys. Digging holes and transporting water.
*Mat Time participation/experiences
William joined other children in Incy Wincy Spider and action songs.
*Others
12.20 - 1.10 only a nap today

Communication - getting his story across, communicating his needs not only verbally.

*Art & Craft Activities
Used shells and leaves, glued onto paper.
*Dough
Today William helped to mix and make the play dough. Well done William.
*Water Activities
Was really interested in having the plumbers here. Watched their every move ang splashed under their hose.
*Carpentry/Construction
Has found he can slide the saws between the decking - spent a long time doing this.
*Books & Storytelling
Wonderful pop up book about the ladybird today. William loved the 3d effect the pop up made.
*Painting/Finger-painting
William painted the paper, table, chair, floor, himself and Shae today. Didn't like Denise washing him up.
*Sand play
William always enjoys the sand pit. Teams up well with Dakota and Wirihana.
*Mat Time participation/experiences
Today mat-time was all about insects - we had a rather large dragonfly to show the children.
*Others
Today William slept 1.55 pm to 3.15 pm.
*Work sheet/scrapbook focus
Finished on the colour red - William chose felts and stamps in the colour red.

Exploration - taking an interest in things around him.
